Stunning views of the loch and mountains
Loch na Keal的点评
点评：On the next part of our tour of Scotland in May 2025 we drove along Loch Na Keal, one of the most scenic sections of a drive from Fionnphort to Tobermory. The road follows the edge of the loch and allows many spectacular views of Ulva and Ben More.
The road has now been upgraded from when I first travelled this way to Tobermory almost 46 years ago. Back then it was not as easily to navigate, with potholes and few passing places. On returning late at night, we would find the road blocked with sheep and deer which meant driving even closer to the edge in places. This is probably the same today.
There are plenty of stopping and view points along the loch shore to allow for some photoshoots of the views. Some would also make ideal picnic places, or to start a stroll along the loch shore. However we found that most were blocked up with bird watches looking for glimpses of the Golden Eagles. We even managed a sighting without having to stop, as the eagle flew up the loch along side us.
Toward the end of the drive along the loch you have the ferry point to Ulva or boat trips to Staffa.
You will also be able to see where the series of waterfalls named Eas Fors take their final plunge into the loch. There is a parking area close by which allows one to climb up along the river to view the falls.
