Wollomombi Falls的点评
点评：We were on a mission of “chasing waterfalls”, our first stop was Gara Gorge and only 40 minutes away (driving distance) via Waterfall Way, we arrived at our next destination – Wollomombi Gorge. Wollomombi Gorge (World Heritage Area) contains two waterfalls – Wollomombi Falls of 220m and the nearby Chandler Falls. We had to see Wollomombi Falls as it is claimed to be the highest falls in Australia. Photos images are stunning but words can’t really describe the beauty when you’re visiting this place, it’s grand and breathtaking. Furthermore, entry is free with lots of free parking, picnic facilities and amenities. Ideal for young families who are struggling on a budget and would like to do and see something amazing with the children. The ‘Main Falls Lookout’ is the only walk that is wheelchair / stroller friendly access and only mere 300m distance. Wollomombi / Chandler Falls is a 2km walk all up (a bit of a slope upwards) to get there and many stairs to climb and you would need to retrace your steps back – it’s not a round trip (approximately 4km walk). Wollomombi Falls is best seen in its magnificent after heavy rain in the area… we did see the falls, not at its mighty potential but the surroundings and the fall looked impressive regardless. We’re not an active family but the walk was ‘easy to moderate’ at a steady pace and a reminder that we have just finished the walk at Gara Gorge 40 minutes prior to this visit. You definitely need to wear good walking shoes, a hat and a big bottle of water to drink. Well worth a visit and a beautiful place to have a picnic.
