点评:This is a place I visited several times when I was staying in Darwin, but I am sure I didn't see it all. It was across from my accommodation, but that wasn't its only drawing card. The first evening in Darwin I had gone for a walk... returned to my room tired after the long day being up early in Ubud and flying to Australia... but when I returned to reception I noted the sunset and instead of purchasing junk for dinner... I went for another walk.
To say the sunsets are stunning from this park is to hugely understate it... 'stunning' is too simplistic... Pulchritudinous perhaps. Or maybe sometimes words are not going to achieve what you need them to.
But it's not just sunsets... the park is full of memorials for so many things... of course, there are war memorials, but then when you walk around ... there are so many. And walking through this park is something special... it curves through beautiful green lawn areas and shady trees or you can choose the alternative park that runs along the waters edge.
Best summed up by William Blake-
"To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour. "
