St. Paul's Grotto的点评
点评：This was a fascinating experience. Paul, the apostle, was stuck in Malta for 3 months after his boat capsized during a violent storm. Paul was a prisoner on his way to Rome. By all accounts, it is in this grotto where Paul lived in the 3 months he spent in Malta before finally completing his journey to Rome.
The self-guided audio takes you deep underground, firstly to the grotto and then to the catacombs. The catacombs are empty, all the remains having been removed which takes away some if the mystery. However, if you suffer from claustrophobia you may not enjoy the experience as the paths can get very tight and cramped, especially if there are lots of tourists. The catacombs housed families during WWII which is quite remarkable.
Your entry ticket also gives you access to the museum which isn’t as interesting as what lies below.
