点评：The historic old town of Memmingen is one of Bavaria’s best-kept secrets. For me, it is one of the most beautiful towns in Bavaria. It has a unique character and an authentic atmosphere that is becoming increasingly hard to find. Walking through the charming streets feels like stepping back in time. The beautifully preserved medieval buildings, colorful facades, and picturesque squares make it a pleasure to explore.
What I especially liked is that the old town is compact and easy to discover on foot. Highlights include the impressive market square, the historic town gates, and the many small cafés where you can relax and enjoy local specialties. Unlike larger tourist destinations, Memmingen offers a peaceful and genuine experience without the crowds.
Another great feature is the free Lauschtour app, which lets you explore the city at your own pace. The audio tours are available in German, English, and Italian and provide interesting background information about Memmingen’s history and landmarks. I found it a great way to discover places and stories I might otherwise have missed.
