点评：We visited this historic flint mill with a local society. Trustees and volunteers at the mill were very welcoming and accommodating when we visited them in March 2025 to arrange the trip, made with 24 society members last week. Cheddleton flint mill is situated on the river Churnet and beside the Caldon Canal that was used to transport material to and from the mill. Personnel at the mill warmly welcomed us, explained the long history of the mill then led us in small groups around the site, with its twin water mills that were both running. The mills, mill manager's and a worker's cottages are steeped in history, which our guides brought to life. Our society had a wonderful, full morning visit. The mill has "on site" car parking. I strongly recommend visiting Cheddleton Flint Mill to families & folk, and societies interested in our industrial heritage. A leisurely walk along the Caldon Canal's tow-path, (there is some bench seating and a viewing area, where we enjoyed our "packed lunch" over the mill at the canal's bank side) are an added bonus. Cheddleton has a picturesque station on the Churnet Valley Railway, (ex North Staffordshire Railway) a visit to which especially on Wednesday's and weekends when a train service runs combines to make a very good "full day out".
