Beautiful place but be careful of Council led rip offs!

点评：Sunday 29th June, our first visit to Saltburn
What a beautiful location!
The place was heaving at 1830hrs when we parked up for a meal reservation at the Tomahawk restaurant, using the Council car park immediately to the South.
I paid for two hours parking (£5) which should’ve take me to 2030hrs.
On closer inspection of the ticket, it was only valid until 2000hrs, so I was already robbed of 30 minutes parking.
If I wanted any more time after 2000hrs it would have cost me another £10 for ‘overnight’ parking.
So all in all, £15 parking to enjoy a meal for two hours
What a complete and utter rip off
This is clearly indicative of the contempt at which Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council hold towards their tourists, an ever growing and crucial industry to the area.
I regard this as entrapment and extortion at its worse, an absolute disgraceful rip off!
I won’t be returning in a hurry and want to warn others.
