Not very exciting for shopping - interesting structure
天文馆的点评
点评：Sunday 11th May we took the free bus shuttle from Kagoshima to Waterfront Park and then walked along Miami Dori to the City Centre.
At the time of our visit, the weather was not very nice, it was raining. So a visit to this covered shopping area was a welcome opportunity to stay dry.
The first thing that that struck us was the height and length of the arched glass panelled roof.
On both sides of the arcade, running under the roof, are stone crenulations supported by fluted colums.
Underneath all that, on the ground level, both sides are lined with a wide variety of enterprises. These include souvenir shops, boutiques and a department store. There are cafes and restaurants serving popular dishes such as Kurobuta (black pig) pork cutlet, Kurobuta pork shabu-shabu and Shirokuma shaved ice (shaved ice with syrup and fruit).
There were also karaoke bars and Pachinko parlours, we did venture to stick our heads into one of the parlours to see what was going on.
The Tenmonkan tram stop is alongside the Centre.
Apart from the structure of the arcade we were not overly impressed. The main reason for our visit was to keep out of the rain and stay dry.
