Stay Away From Unprofessional Golf Staff

点评：It’s a really nice hotel/resort with plenty to do during a weekend with friends. For the most part the staff is extremely helpful and friendly and the food is excellent.
Why this review is 3 stars is because of the poor golf experience my group was party to.
We had a group of 7 of us golfing and we had every intention of splitting up into two groups of 3 and 4 individuals. However we had the first tee time at 7am and decided to play a two team scramble as initially no one was behind us or in front of us.
However at around the 3rd or 4th hole the golf management decided to shut down our scramble even though we were keeping pace and there was still no one behind us. We ignored their first request and continued to play, then they came up to us again and yelled at us. We were wrapping up on the 5th hole and there was only one group that just started the 2nd hole. No other groups were playing between the 2nd and 5th hole.
We were not holding anyone up and we were keeping pace as we were playing scramble. We complied with their request but now everyone was playing their own ball, thus slowing down us considerably. We had some beginners playing with us so that’s why scramble made the most sense. This decision by golf management slowed down play for the entire course, as the group that was 4 holes behind us when the scramble was shut down decided to just skip a few holes to pass us (after we had been playing our own balls for 3 holes).
In an astounding display of either incompetence or just plain prejudice against other groups of people they allowed a group of 5 old ladies to play each of their own balls on one hole. We thought the club was very strict that it was a maximum of 4 golfers per hole and deeply cared if anyone violated this rule. We called the clubhouse twice during the 18 hole round to report this group but the clubhouse never shut them down like they did to us. I get if they are strict on size of golfing party but they did not apply the rules equally to all golfers, which I find particularly disgusting.
We confronted them about this after we were done and they said we were holding up the course and that they had no knowledge of the group of 5 that we called about twice. We reminded them that we were only going slow after their decision to shut down our scramble. We called them out for not applying the rules to all groups equally and they had nothing to say. It seems like they allow members to get away with breaking the arbitrary rules but not the hotel guests paying $500 a night.
Overall I would stay away from golf at this place as it seems poorly run and you may find yourself stuck behind several groups because of odd and inconsistent decisions by golf management.
We will not be golfing there again and I recommend any larger groups stay away from the course as golf management treats hotel guests unprofessionally and poorly.
