We struck gold!!!! just not enough

点评：For my first trip to Alaska, one of my bucket list items was to go gold panning … and finally in 2024, I had the pleasure of joining a gold panning tour with Denali Gold Tours in Alaska, and it was an experience I’ll never forget!
After meeting up with the other guests, we set off on our journey into the Alaskan wilderness.
Our guide, Rich, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about gold prospecting. He shared fascinating stories about his time in the area and about the history of gold mining in the area and provided us with all the boots, tools and tips we needed to find our own little treasures. The scenery was breathtaking, with stunning views of the Trapper Creek area and the surrounding wilderness.
The hands-on experience of panning for gold was both exciting and rewarding….although not rewarding enough to buy a car or something!!. Rich was patient and encouraging, making sure everyone in the group felt confident and had a great time. By the end of the day, I had found a few small gold flakes, which was thrilling!
After the short journey back, we got some sample bottles of gold, and sausages and crisps to warm us back up.
What really stood out to me was the sense of adventure and connection to Alaska’s rich history. This tour is perfect for anyone looking to experience the thrill of gold panning while enjoying the natural beauty of Alaska. I highly recommend Denali Gold Tours to anyone visiting the area…. Just don’t give up your day job as the gold we found was about $10 worth
