点评:This working mill is a lovely weekend discovery or a definite go-to when there's an art show. It's been carefully preserved so you'll see past stabilized crumbling plaster to the stonework beneath. And if you visit during one of the mill's working days, you can buy freshly ground flour and grits. We went during one of the Clare County Historical Association's Art in the Mill events (held twice a year, spring and fall). In addition to really fine art by regional artists and artisans, there's a lovely green area with picnic tables near the stream that feeds the millrace. It's easy to get here using a nav system, but you may feel as though you've entered the legendary Brigadoon, so quiet and peaceful is the tiny town of Millwood. We've sometimes brought a picnic to enjoy on the lawn (a few picnic tables are there) or in the Mill's forecourt, which has benches and I think a picnic table or two. But we've also enjoyed the food and beverages offered by the Locke Store just across the street, which also has a few seating areas. Parking in front of the mill has one handicapped space, but the other front of the building parking is near the entrance. There are two stand-alone restrooms, the entrances to which may pose some challenges for anyone in a wheelchair or having difficulty walking. That said, these rooms are always clean and well stocked during the art shows we've attended.
