Shady business. Very high prices.

点评：Very shady business.
We purchased three rugs. I questioned the material of two of them, suggesting they might be cotton. We were assured they were 100% wool. Upon arrival, the two flat weave rugs were stained and reeked of fungus and mold. Since the inner package was dry, we are certain the rugs were identical to the ones we saw but came from a dank cellar. An expert examined these flat weave rugs and informed us that the dark fibers were wool but the white fibers were viscose, a low end paper product. He could not clean them. Chateau did not respond to repeated emails for help. When we filed a claim with our credit card company, they called us liars and thieves but provided no substantive response. In the end our credit card company refunded a reasonable portion of our payment, back charging Chateau. In hindsight we paid way too much, probably twice what we would pay in Dublin or New York. But that’s on us. The Berber we purchased is very nice but required two cleanings to rid it of the stink from the viscose pieces. No professional could assure us of a proper cleaning bc of the viscose material. (We had already paid for two cleaning efforts). We were told the 2,flat weave were worth no more than €600. We paid €4,500. Our gullibility; shame on Chateau. They now sit in our shed to be donated to charity. No longer our problem.
