Amazing time at Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse!

点评：Everyone who enjoys the water and lighthouses will absolutely love this tour, which is conducted through the United States Lighthouse Society (USLHS.org). The booking process is easy, but make sure to do so early in the season, as tours fill up very quickly. Also, watch the safety video as there will be a waiver to sign as the Chesapeake Bay waters can be unpredictable. The boat will be docked near the Annapolis Maritime Museum, which is a great addition to see on an Annapolis, Maryland trip. They are very kind as to let the tour use the facilities before boarding, just be sure to keep the museum cat, Mac inside! John is very generous to let the tour use his boat, the Bodacious. The trip out to the light station was gorgeous and we learned everything we wanted to know about screw pile lighthouses. All of the docents are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They made sure we had fun, learned something new and stayed safe while doing so. A special shout out to Randy, Tom, Don and Henry for all helping my husband navigate the stairs. He got the assistance he needed since he uses a fold up walker to get around. If you are a member of the USLHS, you can get your passport stamp! The lighthouse itself is beautifully restored to its 1875 glory inside and out! Simply breathtaking water views all around. I guess all that we need now is a gift shop on shore! There is plenty of time to take pictures and relax on the way back. I appreciate the free stickers, as they are great for scrapbooking and they promote the continued preservation of this local treasure. This is the only lighthouse of its kind in its original location! Water was provided as well after our adventure. The funds are used to help maintain this gorgeous lighthouse. The state of Maryland also has special license plates that help the cause! Come visit, you will not be disappointed. What a wonderful memory of a perfect day! Thanks to all!
