Musée des Hortillonnages的点评
点评：Visiting Amiens we wanted to visit the hortillonages so asked at the Tourist board. Whilst there was a number of options only a few offered English tours and none had space for 4. They recommended we visit the musee as there we could just wait.
We are so pleased we took up their recommendation. Arriving at the musee, we paid a very reasonable 10€ each which would include the boat ride. The welcoming receptionist actually took us to where we joined the queue for a boat. One of the staff realising we were English gave us a laminated translation sheet, then suddenly Emiline was by our side explaining that she spoke English and would be our guide. She explained that she was volunteering there as part of her university language course. She accompanied us on the boat ride and then suggested we looked at the museum. Joined by another student, Marie, she went through the history of the hortillonages and took us around explaining everything.
It’s not a fancy museum, but there is lots to see and with our wonderful guides we enjoyed our afternoon.
