点评:I'm writing this on behalf of my grandmother who had booked a table for Christmas dinner on 17th December for 19 senior citizens. After numerous visits and emails with the General Manager "Steve" and arranging 3 taxis for the group to arrive on 17th, she was told by the Events Manager there was no record of her booking and no chef able to accommodate their meal. The Events Manager did very little offer any sympathies for their incompetent booking "system" and internal communication, they merely offered to rearrange on a different date without any remuneration or genuine apology.
One of the members of the group is in her mid-90s and wouldn't have had the means to make any other food arrangements for herself on that day if it had not been for The Heart pub managing to save the day and accommodate the group instead. Apparently the meal at The Heart was far superior than what the golf club had offered in previous years anyway and their warmth and welcome certainly rescued the day after a frustrating experience.
My Grandmother and her friends have been visiting the golf club for the last few years for Christmas dinner and this experience has completely deterred them from visiting again. It seems they aren't particularly keen for the business anyway and this was made abundantly clear from their lack of willingness to offer any form honest apology for their error.
