点评:On Sunday 22 June my wife Lin & I were travelling down the A1 to London, & as RSPB members we decided to stop at The Lodge for a quick walk & lunchtime snack. Although the cafe was open, at 12,.40, they had no sandwiches on offer, & a very limited selection of food - we settled for toasted teacakes, at £3.95 each, which didn't seem good value. On top of this, the shop was closed ( due to "staff changes") & there was no-one in the Information centre. The whole place had a very run-down & unwelcoming atmosphere. We'd recently visited the RSPB reserve at Old Moor in South Yorkshire, which was a complete contrast, with an excellent cafe & shop, & plenty of enthusiastic & helpful volunteers. Perhaps whoever is in charge at The Lodge ( which is the HQ of RSPB) could take a trip up North to Old Moor, to see how things should be done.
