点评:Our 6N/7D srilankan trip was completely ruined by our driver assigned from travco.
**So here, I specifically wanted to write this review and share our experience.**
Let me start with the booking part: Shanil was very responsive, even replying to our messages at midnight, which made us happy.
**Day 1 – Colombo:**
But then the journey started—and we got a driver who clearly never liked to drive.
He was around 60+ years old, named Saman, and he seemed uninterested in everything.
On day 1 itself, the airport pickup was quite late. Then he took us to the hotel to freshen up.
We had a few places on the itinerary to cover that day, but he kept saying “cover them on the last day,” and even on the last day, he was not interested.
From the start, it felt off—he literally said there’s nothing to see. Even though we were clear about the type of food we preferred, he never bothered to look for nearby restaurants (even ones within 3–4 km).
Our itinerary included Galle Face Mall, but he said parking was too difficult and discouraged us, saying “it’s very costly, you won’t buy anything, no point in going.”
We had to insist and stress because it was in the itinerary—and finally, we went.
On top of that ,he forget to give a sim card on our arrival day as per the plan
**Day 2 – Kandy:**
Day 2 started the same way. His words: “There’s nothing much to see, I don’t know, I have no idea, it’s a waste of time and money, don’t go”
It was so disappointing.
**Day 3 – Nuwara Eliya / Kandy:**
Same thing again. We visited the Gem Factory in Kandy, where this driver left his phone for charging—and remembered it only after 2 hours. So we had to go back, losing almost 2 hours and missing other places planned for that day.
He kept pushing visits like the tea factory, Seeta Temple, Ravana Caves, and Ravana Temple to “tomorrow.”
During the drive, his road behaviour was awful—he kept making sounds like “shhh,” “mussss,” “mchaa mchaa,” getting irritated at other drivers, shouting, and passing rude or vulgar comments.
For example, a couple was riding on a bike and he honked at them continuously and commented, “Why romance on the road? Go take a hotel and f**k, why come in my way?”
This was quite a disgusting comment by our driver ,who was supposed to guide/drive us on tour
His braking was so harsh that we almost fell forward several times. He drove too fast, then braked suddenly, making it quite dangerous.
**Day 3 – Ella:**
That morning he was frustrated again, saying there’s “nothing to see.”
About Ella,we requested him to go to particular cafe in ella, driver dismissed our query just like that by saying it’s just pubs and nightlife .
Had to skip ella because of his hesitation and lack of tourist friendly nature.
Also he didn’t take us to Ravana Cave or Ravana Temple either, and directly drove us to Mirissa stating that road was closed.We havent cross checked regarding his claim of road closure ,it was part of mutual understanding and we trusted his words.
The estimated drive from Nuwara Eliya to Mirissa was about 9 hours with stops, but he covered it in 6 hours without stopping anywhere—clearly just wanting to dump us at the next hotel as quickly as possible, and end up always with frustration.
**Mirissa – Anniversary:**
We had an overnight stay in Mirissa. It was our anniversary, so we wanted a cake of our choice from a bakery in town.
We asked the hotel, but they charged extra, so we preferred to get our own.
But the driver kept saying over 100 times, “Why so much hassle? Hotel price is normal, I’ll pay from my pocket.” Even when we explained it wasn’t about money, he kept repeating himself instead of stopping at a cake shop.
**Day 5 – Galle & last day:**
We directly went to Galle Fort, Madu River, and then to see turtles.
When we reached the turtle place, it was sunset and there was a beautiful beach. We wanted to watch the sunset, but again he made his “mchaa” noises, clearly irritated.
He also knew there’s a daily event where they release turtles into the sea—but never informed us.
From day 1 till the last day, it was the same: his rude comments, irritating noises, scolding every other vehicle, bad driving, and racist remarks.
In stores, if we didn’t buy anything, he’d sarcastically ask “Why didn’t you buy?” and offered random money to mock us.
Being a driver, he clearly disliked driving. I understand he may feel tired because of his age—but it doesn’t justify ruining someone else’s trip.
He got annoyed if we asked to stop for food or to use a washroom on a 9-hour drive. Every time we asked to stop, his “mchaa mchaa” sounds started.
The trip was supposed to be about visiting beautiful places, but instead it turned into forcing him to take us there—while he acted like he was doing us a favour.
Hotels were chosen by us (except one in Mirissa, which was average). But the only real job of the travel vendor was to give us a good driver and car, and ensure we had a nice experience in their country—which sadly failed completely.
**Regarding Travco:**
Shanil was responsive and helpful during booking—that part I agree with.
But when it came to the actual experience, it simply didn’t work.
We returned home with more trauma and frustration than memories—thanks to the worst driver we could have got.

我们不得不坚持,而且强调,因为行程安排中已经包括停车——最终我们还是去了。
更糟糕的是,他忘了按照计划在我们抵达当天给我们一张SIM卡。
**第二天 - 康提:**
第二天的开头也是一样。他说:“没什么好看的,我不知道,我完全没有头绪,浪费时间和金钱,千万别去。”
真是太令人失望了。
**第三天 - 努沃勒埃利耶 / 康提:**
又是同样的事情。我们参观了康提的宝石工厂,这位司机把手机放在那里充电——两个小时后才想起来。所以我们不得不折返,损失了将近两个小时,也错过了当天计划的其他景点。
他一直把茶厂、西塔寺、拉瓦那石窟和拉瓦那寺等景点推迟到“明天”。
一路上,他的驾驶行为极其恶劣——不停地发出“嘘”、“嘘”、“噔噔”之类的声音,对其他司机发脾气,大喊大叫,还说了一些粗鲁或粗俗的话。
比如,有一对情侣骑着自行车,他不停地按喇叭,还骂道:“干嘛在路上谈恋爱?去酒店玩玩,干嘛挡着我的路?”
这番话出自我们的司机之口,他本应是导游/载我们游览的。
他刹车太猛,好几次我们都差点摔倒。他开得太快,然后又猛踩刹车,非常危险。
**第三天 – 埃拉:**
那天早上,他又很沮丧,说“没什么好看的”。
关于埃拉,我们让他去埃拉的一家咖啡馆,司机直接拒绝了我们的询问,说那里只有酒吧和夜生活。
因为他的犹豫不决和对游客的不友好,我们不得不放弃埃拉。
而且,他也没有带我们去拉瓦那洞穴或拉瓦那神庙,而是直接把我们送到了美瑞莎,说那条路封闭了。我们没有核实他关于道路封闭的说法,这只是双方互相理解的一部分,我们相信了他的话。
从努沃勒埃利耶到美瑞莎的预计车程(包括中途停留)大约需要9个小时,但他却用了6个小时就开完了——显然他只是想尽快把我们送到下一家酒店,结果总是让我们失望而归。
**美瑞莎 – 周年纪念:**
我们在美瑞莎过夜。那天是我们的周年纪念日,所以我们想在镇上的一家面包店买一个自己喜欢的蛋糕。
我们问了酒店,但他们要额外收费,所以我们决定自己买。
但司机不停地说了上百遍:“干嘛这么麻烦?酒店价格正常,我自己掏腰包。” 即使我们解释说不是钱的问题,他还是不停地重复,而不是在蛋糕店停下来。
**第五天——加勒,最后一天:**
我们直接去了加勒堡、马杜河,然后去看海龟。
到达海龟养殖场时,日落时分,那里有一片美丽的海滩。我们想看日落,但他又发出了“呸”的声音,显然很生气。
他还知道那里每天都有放生海龟的活动——但他从未告诉我们。
从第一天到最后一天,他都是这样:粗鲁的言辞、恼人的噪音、对其他车辆的斥责、糟糕的驾驶技术以及种族歧视的言论。
在商店里,如果我们什么都没买,他就会讽刺地问“你为什么不买?”,还会随意给我们钱来嘲笑我们。
作为一名司机,他显然不喜欢开车。我理解他年纪大了可能会感到疲惫——但这并不能成为毁掉别人旅程的理由。
在9个小时的车程中,如果我们要求停车吃饭或上厕所,他就会很生气。每次我们要求停车,他都会发出“mchaa mchaa”的声音。
这次旅行本应是去欣赏美景,但结果却变成了强迫他带我们去——而他却表现得像是在帮我们忙。
酒店是我们自己选的(除了美蕊沙的一家,那家酒店很一般)。但旅行社真正的职责就是给我们安排一位好司机和一辆车,确保我们在他们的国家拥有愉快的体验——可惜的是,他们完全没有做到。
**关于Travco:**
Shanil在预订过程中回复迅速,乐于助人——这一点我非常认同。
但实际体验下来,它完全不行。
我们回家时,留下的创伤和沮丧远多于回忆——这都怪我们遇到的最差劲的司机。
