点评:Museum Narowdowe in Wroclaw is located on the south bank of the River Odra.
It’s just over a mile of foot from Glowny station.
Alternatively, tram 2 takes you nearby from the station.
The museum is housed in a lovely old building covered by creeping vines.
The top floor had an exhibition called Miracle Workers on display. A collection of Polish domestic appliances over the years plus other artefacts such as toys.
There was a wide range of art on show. Some good European art from days gone by from the likes of Lucas Cranach, Holbein, Brueghel, Tintoretto and Canaletto amongst others.
I enjoyed the Polish art as well. Piotr Michalowski, Jan Matejko, Wojciech Gerson and Wladyslaw Podkowinski all featured prominently.
There was also a statue of German artist Albrecht Durer outside the museum.
My visit was slightly marred by the insistence of the staff that you must view the rooms in a certain order. This seems to be a common theme in countries formerly under the Soviet yoke.
I’ve experienced similar treatment in museums in Baku, Minsk and Kiev in the past.
I had free admission as a had bought a ticket for the Panorama Raclawicka which cost 35 PLN,
