Overpopulated and overrated
Inverness Beach Boardwalk的点评
点评：Pros:
* Handicap accessible via ramps and mats leading to the beach. Wheelchairs and floating chairs for the water are equally available. You won’t find this option anywhere else in Cape Breton.
* Albeit going through a renovation, the location generally served hot, fast food options on site. They equally served ice cream prior to the renovations but unsure if this will still be the case when completed.
* 3 changing rooms with benches and hooks.
* Outdoor shower head to remove access sand, though they removed the privacy wall which I thought added to the aesthetic.
* Two large bathrooms with flushing toilets.
* Sandy beach and in the water for miles.
Cons:
* The parking is atrocious here as there is not enough ample parking for the popularity of this beach. You have little to no chance parking in the actual parking lot and will need to resort to the nearby harbour or along the road leading to the beach. There ARE limited spaces available where the beach hut is, but they fill quickly as well.
* The locals drive very fast up and down the road. Be mindful when walking to the beach, especially with children.
* Make sure you give yourself ample space of parking next to another vehicle. Patrons have no shame parking so close to you that you could potentially be stuck and not be able to get out. This happened to me more than once where I had to climb in from the trunk or the passenger/back doors to access the driver door.
* Be mindful where you park as well. Don’t go near the fishing sheds. The locals will not shy to tell you that you are not welcome there and snicker at you when you walk by them at the beach.
* Take chairs with you at all costs, otherwise the locals will set their chairs on you. My daughter and I had a blanket and not one, but two families set their chairs on us leading us to move. The second family actually laughed at us when my daughter of 9 years old and I were relocating our items. Such a dismaying experience.
