A brilliant experience riding on the beach

点评：My partner and I went on a riding by the sea experience, along with two other riders and a guide. I am an experienced rider, but not the most confident (following a few nasty falls) and the staff were very patient and ensured I was placed on a reliable horse.
The ride out to the beach took us across a main road, but a member of staff was there to hold the traffic back so we could cross safely (which was a definite plus in our books).
At the beach we were allowed to explore and trot/canter/gallop to our hearts content. The guide did not pressure anyone to do anything they were uncomfortable with. The horses were remarkably well trained, so much so that when a couple of adventurous riders decided to go for a full gallop, the others were not fighting to join them.
The guide was very calm and knowledgeable and was happy to take pictures and videos (using our devices) at our request. The cost was €70 per person for approximately 1.5hrs in the saddle.
The horses are well behaved and clearly well cared for as their condition was excellent. Staff at the stables were friendly and spoke English.
If we ever come back to Crete again, Horse Park Rethymno will be one of our first stops.
