Philleigh Way Cookery School的点评
点评：Found this cookery school online when looking for things to do on holiday and trusted the good reviews. Big mistake. I booked to do a course that was called a Taste of Tuscany and which listed loads of different dishes on the website like squid, sardines, risotto, gnocchi etc. Before booking, (less than a week before), I asked some questions. I was told they couldn't tell me the exact menu but there would be 'plenty of choices'.
It lists it's address as Truro, but it is half an hour's drive from Truro in the middle of the countryside only accessible by narrow windy roads and has no phone signal, which we found very difficult. Having arrived after a harrowing journey, it turned out to essentially be a pasta making course as we only made fresh pasta and a tomato based dish - essentially pasta sauce that i could have knocked up myself at home.. There was also only one demonstration, which was a different, uninspiring sauce to go with the pasta we had made. If I had wanted to learn to make pasta I would have booked a pasta making course. There were supposed to be 4 different dishes and include skills that did not manifest and it was also sold as a two course dinner where everyone would eat together, which we did not. Essentially I had nothing to eat except two tastes of dishes that were passed round. I decided to write to them afterwards as I was upset I had been misled - and had given up time on my holiday, but they basically denied what had been promised to me, even though it was in writing -and then had the cheek to tell me how wonderful everyone else thinks they are, which speaks volumes about their attitude! Please be warned!
