Exactly what I wanted from a sherry tour

点评：I was so excited to go on a sherry tour in Jerez and I chose this place because it had a good reputation but seemed less obviously commercial than the biggest brands.
I thought it was amazing that the bodega is smack in the middle of a residential area- there is literally a block of flats opposite.
I was so surprised that not only was it a private tour but that the lady giving it had to unlock the bodega to let us in. It meant that we had the chance to ask all the questions we wanted- and the tour was excellent. Learned so much about sherry.
The tasting was terrific- and the guide was very kind because there was a bottle of something interesting that wasn't part of our tasting package and she let us have some anyway. Also ended up buying a bottle of the fino as it was probably the best I've ever had (the one that is aged for the medium amount if you are interested).
There was only one bad thing about the tour- not enough to take a star off but I think it is good to warn people. In the tasting room in particular but at other parts too there were lots of mosquitos and my wife got bitten a lot (she is an absolute trooper and didn't want to spoil the experience for me so she only told me at the end). Be careful.
