What an unforgettable time on the island thanks to the excellent and wonderful guides of Socotra Trek Tours

点评：I contacted the owner Adnan via WhatsApp to ask if I could visit Socotra within a very short notice (two weeks in advance). After paying the deposit for the returnflight from Abu Dhabi ($930) and visa ($150) beforehand, he managed to arrange everything for me within a few days! (usually the visa takes a few weeks).
I had an amazing two weeks on Socotra, one week of trekking in the mountains and one week going around the island (the 'general' tour).
The first week I had English-speaking guide Nasib and a local mountain guide for the trek who was absolutely fenomenal and knew every single stone and every trail in the mountains. It was one of the best weeks of my life being offline, going through incredible landscape and soaking up the beautiful nature and peace in the mountains.
The second week I had guide Mansour and driver Abuhani who were absolutely wonderful. Mansour is an excellent story teller and can tell you everything about his culture. Everything was well arranged. All the guides during these two weeks made my stay on Socotra an unforgettable one.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Make sure you bring cash (to pay), as there are no ATM's on the island.
- Bring your own sleepingbag for more comfort and hygiene, a powerbank and (wet) toiletpapier.
- Snorkeling gear is not included, so you need to rent ($5 per piece) or bring your own.
