Guest Safety Should Come Before Social Media

点评：Our experience at Ukutula Game Reserve Lodge was unfortunately overshadowed by the presence of social media influencers during the lion walk.
Before the walk began, the rangers clearly explained the safety rules that everyone was expected to follow. However, the influencers repeatedly ignored these instructions, putting not only themselves but the rest of the group at unnecessary risk. It was incredibly disappointing to see safety treated as secondary to getting content.
They also dominated the entire experience. They constantly positioned themselves at the front, took over every photo opportunity, and prevented other paying guests and families from enjoying the experience equally. Many of us barely had the chance to appreciate the lion walk because everything revolved around creating social media content.
What made it even more frustrating was seeing the influencers later paying the park to get even closer to the lions for additional photo opportunities. If the reserve intends to use influencers for promotional purposes, they should be scheduled separately from regular guests rather than included in family groups. Paying visitors should not have their experience diminished so that others can create content.
We came expecting a memorable wildlife experience, but instead left feeling frustrated and overlooked. We hope the reserve reviews how influencer visits are managed in the future so that guest safety, fairness, and the overall experience remain the priority.
