点评：Hillrock bourbon has been my stepson's favorite bourbon for a long time, so we treated him and his girlfriend to the Hillrock Estate Founder's Tour for his birthday. By the end of the tour and tasting I felt a little guilty and told my stepson this was MY best birthday ever. I enjoyed meeting the founders, their son and the fantastic staff. The history of the estate, the distillery and the industry was fascinating. My wife enjoyed participating in the process by raking the grain in the malt house. We loved the founder's dogs and that they were so involved in the tour!
I have collected bourbon and other whiskies for several years and own several bottles of Pappy Van Winkle. I am frequently disappointed when purchasing an expensive, "Rare," or special reserve bottle, only to discover that I didn't enjoy it as much as my usual whiskies. While I will still enjoy Col. E.H. Taylor bourbon, Blanton's bourbon, Angel's Envy rum cask rye and Whistle Pig rye, Old World I will no longer chase the story, only the taste. I have found all I need at Hillrock. I can tell from the taste that this family produces their whisky with the same love I witnessed them bestowing on their pets, their employees and each other.
