* The public transportation network from Manhattan to all/most/some of Long Island
* Many stops and stations and routes and lines
* Fairly reasonable and timely service
* Functional rolling stock- not modern; not decrepit
* Not overwhelming standing-room-only occupancies- at least when I was riding
* Significant senior fare reduction
* Quaint method of conductor in regalia and big blue cap coming to inspect and punch tickets and stick the stub over your seat
CONS
* Clearly not modern
* No scenery at all on the journeys
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"
... because that's how I traveled from Manhattan doing touring to my Long Island lodging. The train schedule was clear and understandable. The journey was a functional activity- it was fine and acceptable but not luxurious or exciting.
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
Yes
WOULD" I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN...
If I needed to do that, I would do that
