White Pine Ski Resort的点评
点评：This place is a legit hidden gem. It snowed like crazy Thursday, they were closed, which meant when they opened Friday morning, things mostly cleared up and the snow was untouched.
No lines on what was pretty much a powder day. Fresh tracks in the trees until close. I was able to stay in Pinedale at a nice motel for $80 a night. It was only a 20 minute drive from the hotel, when the roads were pretty nasty as it was still snowing when I left in the morning.
Just a small lodge, with food. Parking was super easy. It doesn't show up on Google Maps when you search for ski areas in the area. I ended up finding it on Indy Pass.
The people who worked there were really cool. A key factor I used to judge the atmosphere of a resort is how happy and friendly the lifties are. White Pine had a couple really friendly and nice ones. To be honest, it was one of the friendliest ski resorts I've been to. I really felt surrounded by people who loved to ski and snowboard here, no whining families or rude people.
The runs were all pretty fun, the glades were cleared out very nicely and they were ample, even if they don't show up on the trail map. The only run that really was a bother as a snowboarder was Wind River Return, with the snow that day I always had to skate a little bit on that run. Skiers seemed to handle it just fine, though. The rest were very fun, with a good variety for beginner to advanced.
If I was in a surrounding area and there was a powder weekend, I would 100% head here to avoid the crowds and enjoy the snow, even if it meant getting a hotel.
