点评:This is a disused lime rock quarry refurbished into a gorgeous nature preserve. Bottlebrush, azaleas and other blooming plants are interspersed among waterfalls and pools fed by the underground springs. Giant tortoises and a trio of female swans came as a surprise. There are upper and lower paths accessible by steps and bridges. Be advised, although a map us provided and trails are marked with small numeric signs it is very easy to get turned around, especially when trying to find the exit or one of the two restroom areas. Novice botanists will be frustrated by too few signs on the many unique plants tranported to the site. At the ticket shed you can buy reasonably priced plants with t-shirts and sodas. This is a beatiful place and enjoyable visit--until I got lost--really lost. Finding the place is another challenge as the small blue marker on the highway states the gardens to be 1.0 away. That's NOT to the turnoff from 27, because the next turnoff is within sight of that sign. Follow your online map. It'll take you past a horse farm to the entrance.
