Peasemarsh Nature Preserve的点评
点评：Beware anyone visiting Thornbury. Parking enforcement is predatory and unfair. It is designed only to make money from tourists and part time residents. Parking rates and fines are exorbitant.
As a resident I was upset to receive a ticket at Peasemarsh and dispute it only to discover the officer did not even read my letter when he replied and denied cancelling our tickets. Pay your taxes and pay more. It appears they disdain visitors and people who are part time residents. The parking system changed in 2024 and we registered online. We were not aware you had to re-register every year as it is a new system. We received a $80 parking ticket on a Sunday at 9:50 am.
Our friends with us received the same ticket. We are both residents who pay high taxes and registered last year. We discovered they only monitor one of the two Peasemarsh parking lots. Hence people can park their RV’s for a week at the second lot, as we have seen, but residents can’t park for 45 min in the larger lot without being fined, as we were told when I questioned. We were never able to speak directly with anyone responsible for the dispute process. They all work off site. Why monitor one lot and not the other? This is what we pay our taxes for. It is very disappointing.
