点评:I love Thornton reservoir and walk round at least 3 times a week with a friend, however today we were horrified when we witnessed two women arriving and letting their large poodles out of their car without a lead on. They shot across the carpark making straight for the birds laying out in the sun and came back with a gosling each in their mouths. One dog dropped one and left it twitching half dead, the other would not let it go but they both would have died from their injuries. The lady owner just exclaimed “oh no not again”. We later bumped into them walking round, their dogs were still not on a lead and we said we had seen the incident and that they should have their dogs on a lead and were told that there were no nesting birds it was fine. The lady owner then became abusive which is why I’m putting it on here. More should be done to protect the wildlife at this reservoir, I have her car registration and feel irresponsible dog owners like this should be banned. Fair enough accidents happen but they couldn’t care less.
