Interesting place, disappointing tour
克拉姆林路监狱的点评
点评：First time visiting in many years and was quite disappointed. Having previously had the guided tour, booked the self guided tour as guided price has significantly increased and was unavailable at times visiting.
Self guided tour included various video clips describing life in the gaol, prisoner experiences and staff insight. The videos could do with timer so that you could tell when to come back and view if you walk in mid-video. Some were not working and others were really poor visual quality. At busy periods you could be waiting quite some time to access some cells. Thankfully it was fairly quiet on our visit.
The final/hangman cell was well done however the outdoor area that followed was quite a let down and would be awful should the weather be poor. It feels like this section is simply to ensure the one way system is completed.
The history of the troubles cartoon video was super, this was a real highlight.
I’m not sure where the guided tour goes as we didn’t meet any guided groups despite the website being fully booked for these.
Great venue, just let down somewhat by the technology. It’s also a shame that there are no staff on the way round to talk to about the areas and history of the gaol.
