Attractive Modern Library With Fun Details
Halifax Central Library的点评
点评：We would easily rate this wonderful library as a "5" as a library, but it's probably closer to a "4" as a trip destination.
The Halifax Central Library is a moderate walk up from the waterfront. It is about 3 blocks inland from the beautiful historic basilica and at one end of one of the nicer shopping districts in Halifax.
This is a very modern structure that is attractive from the front, but view it from an angle from the left side (as you are facing it) and you will see that it is shaped as a series of enormous glass boxes.
Inside is airy and just as interesting. The internal staircases and hallways soar through the atrium. The stacks are attractively done, and there are nice views from the upper levels.
Of course, they have lots of books, but as we were just visiting so we did not sample the collection.
This is an easy place to find, is fun to poke around for 45 minutes or so and the cost is free. From here you can easily see other sites or go shopping.
