点评:The waterfall entrance is easy enough to find and there is plenty of parking. The owner of our lodge warned us that the the town is in between contracts for the tour operator of the waterfall viewing point and that the current guide didn’t have the best approach to customer service. The guide approached us immediately and offered to take us the waterfall. I’m not sure you could really refuse. He noted that there was a small fee but doesn’t tell you how much until you are already down the path. We had been told that it should really be something like 30-50 rand but he initially asked for 300 for what turned out to be a 20 minute visit! When he figured out that we didn’t have very much cash and wouldn’t give in to his demands, he started asking for food too. We were happy enough to share some of the snacks and drinks we had in the car but it felt like we spent the whole visit arguing over the fee which made for a really unpleasant experience - one that we wanted to cut short. Aside from the guide, the visit is nice, through an old steam train tunnel which is kind of dark and spooky and then emerging onto a platform looking over the falls (in the distance). Beware that the platform has big holes in a few spots where it appears there was a small fire. You would really need to be cautious visiting with little kids. It’s a shame the place is in such bad shape. This could be a really nice attraction under better management.
