They are harsh to customer when they can be nice

点评：We had 10 people booked in for a mini GP today. We were instructed to arrive at 2 and our session will start at 2:30. The mini GP is structured as 1X5min warm up session, 2X10min race heat and 1X10min grand final according to their website.
Four of our members, including myself, were 25 minutes late, which is our fault. When we arrived at 2:25, We were told that for us who were late, we will miss 15 minutes of our driving time because they combined the first 5 minutes warmup session with the first 10min race heat, which was not previously stated.
We also asked if it's possible to make up our loss by putting us in one come and drive session (10min) if there are seats available, the reception lady told us that we can't join one unless we want to pay $40 for it.
I would like to take the full responsibility of being late. It's very reasonable that if we missed the brief, we are not allowed to be on the track with our friends. I understand punctuality is very important, however, this is not my final exam, it just a leisure activity. You can kick your friends out of your birthday party for being 25 minutes late, but you normally wouldn't do that. Giving us a free 10 min session for missing our 15 min session has no safety risk, will not affect other people, and that's the driving time we had already paid for anyway.
Eventually, four of us who were late were only got to drive 20min on track for $125 per person, when the track wasn't even busy, and it was easy to just put us in one of the 10 minutes arrive and drive sessions. It seems that they just want to punish us for our mistake as hard, as harsh as they possibly can instead of working with us, and this decision is very likely to be backed up by their management team because the lady at reception tells us feel free to send them an email if we want to complain.
Also, anyone who is considering booking a mini gp should be aware that the grand final is NOT a standing start race as all of you would expect. It's just the same format as a normal arrive and drive session except the fastest person got to leave pit first. There will be no checkered flag either, your racing result will only depend on your fastest lap.
