Nice Trip, but need to be strong, along with a strong stomach!

点评：Canoe & Camping trip!
Lovely staff on arrival, very quick briefing & off we went! Weather was perfect for the canoe trip both days! Scenery was lovely, Bedford town was surprisingly really nice. The Kingfisher pub on the river was really nice for a stop off cold pint! (Quite expensive though)
On arrival of the camp, there was a very large tree that had fallen (no one knew about it) so we had to lift the canoe over to get to the camp!
On arrival, found teenagers hanging about all our belongings that had been dropped off, we were told it’ll be safe In a LOCKED container.. that container was made of rotten wood and with no padlock.
After shouting at the teenagers to go, it made us feel very uneasy to leave our belongings the filling day to enjoy further time on the river, with that, we decided to cut out trip a day short and go back to base.
They say it’s a 4hr trip… it’s not unless you are physically paddling ALL the time with no stops. It took us 6hours there and 4.5hrs back with no stops.
There’s 3 places you need to lift the canoe and CARRY it a fair way even over your head at one point (Castlemill lock) the canoe is VERY heavy, even 3 fairly built guys found it awkward. So beware if you’re not strong, or injured anyway!
They didn’t supply any frying pans, cooking stuff was very limited although we paid for the cooking stuff and also went through a checklist before leaving base!
If you think you’ll use the toilets at the camp, think again, the state of them are horrendous, more chance of catching illnesses than anything! (Still had faeces from previous campers that hasn’t been covered resulting in ALOT of flies and the smell …. Wow)
Overall we canoed 10hrs without any leisure paddling involved.
But putting the bad bits aside we still had a laugh and good time!!

有 3 个地方你需要抬起独木舟，甚至在某个地方（Castlemill 锁）把它抬到头顶上方，独木舟非常重，甚至 3 个体格健壮的人都觉得它很笨拙。所以如果你体格不强，或者受伤了，一定要小心！
他们没有提供任何煎锅，烹饪用具非常有限，尽管我们付了烹饪用具的钱，并且在离开基地之前还检查了检查清单！
如果你认为你会使用营地的厕所，那就再想想吧，它们的状况很糟糕，感染疾病的几率比任何东西都大！ （之前露营者留下的粪便还没有盖上，导致苍蝇很多，味道也很难闻……哇）
总的来说，我们划了 10 个小时的独木舟，没有进行任何休闲划桨。
但抛开不好的事情不谈，我们仍然笑得很开心！
