Christine Falls Viewpoint的点评
点评：This is a very picturesque Waterfall that falls in several steps on the Van Trump Creek in Pierce County. The total height of the Falls is 69 feet. Our first view was the top part was right off the road on the left side where the gushing water cascades down for 32 feet. If you want to see the rest of the Falls, you must cross the road and then hike down a short path with a few steps. There is a landing from where you can capture most of the beauty. The multi-tiered 37-foot lower part of the fall framed by the cobblestone bridge is simply stunning. That bridge adds to the rustic beauty of the surroundings. This lower area would obviously be the most photographed part.
Parking is very limited near the top tier, so our tour van dropped us off there, and then parked across the bridge in a wider area. After viewing the top tier, we hiked down to the lower tier and then walked across the windy bridge to admire and photograph the drop-dead gorgeous views of the Nisqually River and the Valley below. Luckily for us, there was lots of water flowing on the morning that we visited.
The Falls are named in honor of Christine Van Trump. In 1889, this nine-year old girl accompanied by her father climbed up to the 10,000-foot level of the mountain, even though she had a crippling nervous disorder. A well-deserved honor for her.
It is one of the few Falls that people stop at, but in my opinion, this area is a “Must See”. Please be aware of the traffic as you cross back and forth on the bridge to get your photos.
