点评:Horse riding was something I last did during high school, and my partner and I were so excited to relive those memories in Tasmania. Thanks to Horse Riding Tasmania, our expectations were exceeded, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip!
Big thanks to Sharon and Crystal for making this such a memorable experience. Sharon’s love for horses and her passion for what she does were evident throughout the entire activity. She is incredibly meticulous about the riders’ safety, which helped us feel confident and comfortable during the ride.
We did the 2.2-hour ride, which took us through the bush, over hills, and across varied terrain. It was the perfect mix of being challenging but still manageable for beginners like my partner, who had never ridden before. For me, having ridden horses many times but never in the wild or cross-country, it was an exciting and relaxing experience.
Sharon gave us a detailed briefing and initial training session before the ride, tailoring the instructions to each rider’s experience level and matching us with the right horses. She also arranged the riding order based on both the riders and the horses, which made the whole experience feel well thought out and safe. Make sure to arrive on time for your booking, as you’ll need to allow extra time for paperwork, briefing, and training. While the ride itself was 2.2 hours, the entire activity took nearly 4 hours, and we absolutely loved every moment of it.
A special mention to Crystal and Tess, the beautiful horses we rode! We miss them already and hope they enjoyed the royal gala apples we brought for them from Salamanca Market.
A Few Tips for Future Riders:
Dress appropriately! Wear tighter long pants and boots (not running shoes). This is important for comfort and safety while riding.
Bring a jacket, as the weather in Tasmania can be unpredictable. The sun can get strong, but the wind and shade from the bushes can make it chilly. A jacket also helps protect you from branches while riding.
Sharon sends out a 20-minute introductory video before your ride. Please watch it! It’s super helpful and will ensure you’re better prepared.
We were initially worried about the weather, especially since it was pouring in Hobart earlier that morning. But we were so lucky – the best weather of the day happened during our ride!
Overall, this was an unforgettable experience. The care and attention Sharon puts into every detail truly sets Horse Riding Tasmania apart. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, this is an activity not to be missed.
Thank you, Sharon, Crystal, and Tess, for an incredible adventure!
