Great wildlife experience…underwhelming theme park
Gumbuya World Theme Park的点评
点评：Having driven past Gumbuya World many times over the years when travelling between Gippsland and Melbourne, I’d been wanting visit for ages. I wish I felt comfortable giving it 4 stars (if 3.5 were available then I’d rate it slightly higher) but I don’t quite feel comfortable doing so.
The best part of it would have to be the wildlife park. I did the penguin and mountain pygmy possum experiences. Aracella, Laura (penguin keepers) and Anton (pygmy possums) are to be commended for their professionalism and wealth of knowledge of the animals in their care. Additionally, their compassion towards the animals. I also enjoyed meeting the farmyard animals such as Quigley and Thor the goats, a big tan bunny and Barbie the lamb 🐑
In terms of the rides, I’d been looking forward to going on all of them yet was left disappointed. Firstly, the rides weren’t all operating and the ones that were didn’t work all at once. I understand that the weather prevented the roller coasters from running yet unsure what the excuse was for the rest. Similarly, most of the eateries weren’t open despite being school holidays and it was hard to find staff. Possibly understaffed 🤔 At any rate, the park lacked in the theme park and/or carnival atmosphere that I’d been hoping for.
The other area that I wasn’t impressed with was the food available. Mostly a grab and go and gob section of fried food, which could’ve been sitting there for ages. There was a very uninspiring selection of premade sandwiches and packaged muffins. I asked about the toasties on the menu only to be told they weren’t doing them today. Ended up calling in at McDonalds on the way home.
