点评:The Wharf reserve to the south of Leonard's Inn was the town's highest point, soon to be developed in the late 1800's into a focal point for the town. It was years before the town began to develop away from the river. The punt crossing which was around the river from Bushy Bend continued to be the main method to cross the river. That location was actually where this park is ... once known as Bushy Bend. The punt was in place until a bridge was built in 1874.
A swing bridge was built for the site and there are remnants throughout this area of a bygone age ... as well as sculptures and points of interest. The day I was there the water was clearly up which had all of the water edge picnic tables water logged. :) If you wanted to wade to the table the only part that was not going to be covered in water was the table top.
It's a pretty area to view the river from and there are picnic tables when the water is not high. (and truth be told they are there with the water up as well...if you want to live dangerously)
