Magical rainforest escape
Canon del Rio Claro Reserva Natural的点评
点评：This place is really special. There is so much flaura and fauna around, it's enough to make a person drunk.
The rooms: our family of four stayed in the Refugio, where the room was fairly large, with beds for us and our two kids, and a gorgeous view of the river and jungle below. It was spotless and cleaned daily. There are bug nets over each bed, so with the river gurgling below, and the sounds of the frogs and birds, we slept very soundly.
To know: the rooms are a 10-minute walk from reception through a slippery jungle path. Take backpacks or anything you can slip over your shoulder. We repacked our bags, and left our luggage in the car. You will definitely need a flashlight to get back from dinner. Bug spray, which we forgot to bring, would have been very helpful (we got bit up pretty badly).
Food: typical Colombian fare. All meals are included, which made logistics so much easier. They were kind in preparing a vegetarian option for me.
Activities: we did rafting one day, which was so much fun. We went with our six and 11 year olds, and both did fine. Its also very inexpensive by U.S. standards (50,000 Colombian pesos per person, roughly $11 dollars). Hubs and daughter also did ziplining. It was short, about 30 minutes, but they had a blast. Would have been great to do a nature excursion, but alas that was not on offer. Not sure if it was because of the holidays, or if it's just not something that's available.
Service: Paula, at the front desk, was very attentive. The young staff working at the reserve were very sweet and accommodating as well.
