Impressive modern winery in Urla

点评：This was my first visit to a winery in Türkiye. I was most impressed with the layout, architectural design of the winery and also how clean and ultra modern it is. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the landscaping and the layout of the vineyards. I especially enjoyed being able to freely walk through the vineyards.
The wine tasting was also enjoyable. At a nominal cost of 200 TL ( less than $5 USD) I was given a taste of 5 different varieties as well as a talk on each wine’s characteristics.
If at the end you choose to buy a bottle or two this tasting fee is more than refunded in a discount.
I particularly loved two of the reds which I had tasted and ended up buying a bottle of each of the Vourla 2023 (a blend of Boğazkere - Merlot - Syrah & Canernet Sauvignon grapes) and of the delicious Tempus (a super blend of Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot - Syrah - Petit Verdot & Cabernet Franc). In both cases I was impressed with not only the taste and but the unique blends. In both cases I had not drunk these particular blends before. It was interesting to see that both had already won international medals & recognition in Decanter magazine.
All in all I spend over two hours at this winery and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were also super friendly and knowledgeable. For me this was most definitely a 5/5 experience.
