点评:The Botanical Garden/Botanischer Garten in Gießen is a real gem - and impressively, it is the oldest botanical university garden in Germany that still exists on its original site, dating back to 1609. Admission is free, which makes it all the more worthwhile to visit.
The garden offers a remarkable variety of different plant species from around the world, both in its outdoor sections and in the greenhouses. One of the highlights for me was the Evolutions-Denkpfad (Evolution Path), which presents plants in a way that makes the concept of evolution engaging and tangible.
Beyond the scientific and educational aspects, the garden is also simply a beautiful green oasis in downtown Gießen - perfect for taking a break, enjoying nature in the middle of the city, or simply a peaceful stroll.
A unique blend of history and nature - I’ll certainly return in future.
