点评:A small Inari Shrine that is at the SW corner of the Castle premise. Quite visible by the flagging red/white banner as we left the Castle, the red-white banner is a common Inari Shrine setup for those we visited at Kyoto, Toyohsahi & Yutoku. It is just opposite to the Takahashi Park. This shrine was constructed for the divine protection of Kumamoto Castle in 1588 to mark the arrival of Kato Kiyomasa in Kumamoto.
Some part of the shrine has nice views of the Castle from here, not a very big premise and there were worshippers when we were there on a Sunday afternoon. We got know that the largest festival at the shrine is the Hatsu Uma Taisai festival, held in February of each year, where many visitors come to the shrine to pray for large harvests, safe households, and success in business.
We stayed for about 20 mins, made a prayer for safe trip then left.
