Different in a Good Way.
No.6 Cinema的点评
点评：I have been following Cinema No 6 on Instagram for some time and have always wanted to visit but for some reason I never actually got there.
There was a showing of a Martin Parr the British Magnum photographer film recently and I really want to see it so decided to make the effort to see the film.
I parked in the large car park at Gunwharf Quays and walked the short distance to the Dockyard entrance. There were a couple of security guys at the entrance, one must remember this is still an active Naval Base so there may be limitations on what can be taken inside.
Once past security it is a short walk to the Cinema building, which is a great looking building. The entrance was well signposted and once inside the building one can purchase your ticket, it should be noted you can buy them in advance from their website. Also, I believe it is a totally cashless venue.
There is a small bar where you can purchase a drink and snacks which you can take with you while watching the film. Whilst sitting in the bar I spoke with staff and other cinemagoers and there was a friendly vibe, which I have never experienced at the cinema before.
The cinemas screen is big and especially good for my old eyes and the sound seemed somewhat controlled rather than ear popping volume at other cinemas.
Would I go again, most definitely. It really is a hidden gem.

Some of my reviews may seem unforgiving but I come from a time when everything was not “Awesome” and “near enough was not good enough”. So, if I say something is “Excellent” that is because it is somewhere better than most others… and well worth considering visiting.

这家电影院的银幕很大，对我的老眼来说尤其好，而且声音也控制得比较好，不像其他电影院那样震耳欲聋。
我肯定会再去的。这真是一块隐藏的瑰宝。
