点评:We had a lovely day, with Yucel. I knew the basics of where we wanted to go, but since they were all new to us, wasn't sure how to do it. Yucel did just what you need in a driver - he was very willing to discuss all the parameters and let us decide... or he would. We relied a lot, on his experience. Being a local with long time taxi experience, he can go anywhere & knows how to get it done! I love that he uses gps, not for directions but to find the route with the best traffic.
He's so intuitive about what you'll need, or run into, and discusses them before you run into them, that he quickly went from driver, to friend!
Now that we have been there... I think I'd change one thing. He asked if we'd like to north- south or the opposite. We had no clue, not enough knowledge to choose and the real fear that we'd choose the way that put us right into afternoon traffic we could have missed. So we asked him to decide.
After the fact - we didn't encounter much heavy traffic at all. It was a later day for our ship, since we didn't arrive until 1 pm, but the kind of afternoon traffic we expected just wasn't there, so we could have done either route, easily. Considering that, I'd do north-south, if going again. We, did Didem, Melitas, then Priene (south-north). We could have easily gone the other direction, without traffic issues. That leaves the sites themselves and when they're considered, I'd go the opposite of what we did.
It was VERY nice leaving Priene, then having the shortest drive back to the ship and I think that's what Yucel was thinking. The reason I'd change it? Priene has both the longest walk & it's on top of the mountain... all uphill!
Doing that at the end is difficult, for even the best in our group. Do it first when you're still fresh, then do the other two when you've already had your exercise for the day!
Melitas is the 'lightest' exercise of the 3, you could even discuss doing Priene, Didem, then Melitas on the way back to the ship, IF the logistics work out (I was along for the ride, so don't know how far off the main drag that each of them are).
If you ask Yucel, he'll give you his honest opinion - and all the facts that need to be considered.
Photos may be backwards - there are 3 of Didem, 2 each of the others. That long line of steps is for Priene, just the beginning, it gets much older, with steeper steps. The other 2 are flat, with only climbing inside.
