Very thorough museum of medieval methods of torture, many real ancient displays.
Musée de la Torture Bruges的点评
点评:We were here on Friday, May 15, 2026 and happened upon this place by accident and decided to go in. If you buy a combo ticket with the nearby Witchcraft Museum you save $$. We did. See also my review of the Witchcraft Museum.
This is a small though very well done museum. Each display has a very good description of when, why and how it was used. Some extremely brutal but apparently true. A few of these torture methods continued into the 1970s even 1990s in some countries. We saw families bringing small children as young as 5. Not appropriate for small kids, parents should be ashamed. Others, walked through probably doing the entire museum in about 10 minutes, as did some teenagers as well. What is the purpose of paying admission to do that? At times the museum can be crowded making the narrow walkways difficult to maneuver or read the descriptions. There is also a small outdoor area right next to a canal, few people realize this it seems.
