As you park your car or mini van, there are shops where you can make puchases for drinks and snacks. There is also a restroom in a restaurant, which the staff don't mind you using. You will be greeted with market traders all the way down to the beach/ water front. They dont bother you, and sell a variety of souvenirs, such as soap, tea, kids toys etc.
There are steps down to the beachy part, be wary, these are steep, and not baby pushchair friendly.
Once on level ground, it is covered in mini boulders, which are extremely difficult to walk over/on. You need sneaker like shoes. It's probably all in all a 10-15min walk to get to the waterfront.
There are boats which can be hired and shade under umbrellas and seats.
The beach has zorbs for families and kids, floaty tires that can also be hired.
The water is crystal clear and very beautiful
We went in early January and it was very warm. As soon as the sun begins to set, you need a jacket as it gets nippy.
The drive from Sylhet is comfortable and scenic.
Overall a good day out with kids, but can't spend many hours here as it gets boring.
