Nice place, bad food and service.

点评:We have used this place before and it’s a good average when it comes to pub grub and standard off the shelf bar food. Don’t expect real restaurant quality. The service this time was much the usual quality with one person seeming to assume that his role was to entertain the staff girls which slowed down the service considerably. I started with the culllen skink which is a favourite of mine and I have tried it in restaurants around Scotland. This one was poor, watery and unseasoned. My main was the trio of pork with apple sauce. This was frankly appalling. The meat was obviously reheated , dry and tough. The sauce turned out to be a thin, weakly flavoured gravy and there was a spoonful of what they called mashed potato. This dish cost £21! To finish I had what they called lemon crème brûlée but what I would more accurately call cold, crusty custard . In all it seems that they have joined the ever increasing ranks of those venues assuming that quality doesn’t matter because their clientele has no taste and more money than sense. In short a disappointing insult.
