点评:Livraria (Bookshop) Lello is often found on lists of the most beautiful bookshops in the world. Although it's more than a hundred years younger than Livraria Betrand in Lisbon (the oldest operating bookshop in the world), it is nevertheless one of the oldest bookshops in Portugal and it has previously been rated as one of the best bookstores in the world. It consists of two floors with a beautiful neo-Gothic facade with Art Nouveau elements, while the inside is more representative of the Art Deco style. Some of the most important features of the building are the intricately carved arches, the impressive interior winding staircase, the grand ceiling, and the beautiful stained glass windows.
One of the most unusual features of the bookshop is that you can't enter without buying a ticket. I bought the cheapest ticket available, which I think was worth €10, but there are other more expensive options which give you certain perks. If you're a book lover, I recommend you visit this bookstore, though do take into account that you might have to queue, unless you buy one of the more expensive tickets that grant you priority entry.
