点评：I went for the 9 am slot thinking, “Nobody will be there. I’ll have the place to myself.”
And I think literally everyone who landed in Porto on a morning flight had the exact same idea.
At 8:57 am, there was already a huge queue for timed entry. I was pretty annoyed, and then I found out they actually overbook people. When I entered at 9:04 am, the ground floor was already packed with people.
And then came the constant, “Excuse me, can you please move? My friend/husband/dad is taking a photo.”
I get it, you paid €15.95 for the experience and obviously want some Instagram photos. But take one or two and move on. You really don't need to take 100 photos from every possible angle.
The cost of the book is already quite high, and because you don't want to leave without buying something after paying the entry fee, you naturally end up looking at books that mostly cost more than the €15.95 entrance fee.
I really think they need to do something about the crowds. It's one-way traffic once you enter, and despite that, the whole experience felt incredibly chaotic.
After spending an hour there, my final thought was basically: “Great, now I have a book, but I'm also extremely frustrated with this place.”
If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend going on the last day of your Porto trip. That way, even if the experience is frustrating, it won't affect the rest of your trip.
